Live it was normally a 7 minute song. They were told that they only had a 4.5 minute slot, so they would have to cut part of the song. They din't want to do that so they decided to speed up and compress the whole 7 minute song into 4.5 minutes. It's a testament to their playing skills that they were able to play an already up-tempo song 35% faster.

i like to watch reactions of this song. its called yodeling btw, a "singing" technique that is very old in bavarian swiss and austrian folk musik. :)

Awesome reaction. The song was played at a fair pace due to TV time limitations. Jan Akkerman is probably the most underestimated guitarists of the era. You won't go wrong listening to any of his music. Tranquilizer and Slow Man are good examples. I appreciate you won't probably understand what I'm writing but keep reacting and analysing as you are, It's cool to watch.
I agree, he has this style of playing solo without any feelings and syncopation, just a kind of nonchallant tonefactory, It is awesome.

The first part is yodeln. The second part is called eefing. A mid-west American style somewhat akin to beatboxing. The increasing pitch at the end of these parts is going into a vocal technique called falsetto. That final whistle is a very high-pitch, breath-intensive type of whistling

フォーカスはオランダのバンドで、洋コレは"悪魔の呪文～ベスト・オブ・フォーカス～"を持ってます。アルバムバージョンは6分半、シングルバージョンは3分ぐらいです。洋コレもコーラスに入った瞬間、衝撃的な曲でした。自分はビルボード本で1955～2002年までのポップチャートを追いかけていますが、フォーカスのアメリカでの、2曲目のシングルは"シルヴィア"という曲になります。こちらは至って普通の感じですよ。

Probably worth noting that most in the audience and watching on TV at the time already were familiar with the song, from the original version. So they already knew, generally, what to expect.
I categorize this as a novelty song. From an excellent Dutch prog-rock band. Meant to be humorous but there's a lot of virtuosity in there.

FOCUSはもっと好きなプログレバンドというよりオールタイムのロックバンドです。ギターのヤン・アッカーマンは最も好きなギタリスト。当時サンプラザでLIVE見ましたよ。名作アルバム幾つもあります。変に格式張ってない洒落たサウンド是非聴いてみてください。
あとMCの女性はグラディス ナイト。ビルボードNo1何曲もあるレジェンド。
